Excuse me, sir...
02.26.05 (10:41 am)   [edit]
Sometimes I don't think that it can get any worse and then I am proven wrong. With each new day, God pushes me for more. I feel as if my heart is being taken apart with a rusty knife and a melon scoop. I am still walking, dressing, breathing and making coffee. Sometimes, I can form a coherent sentence. So, I guess that He hasn't given me more than I can bear.

Perhaps, someday, you will find me walking down a city street with a Target shopping bag containing my underwear, a copy of Pride and Prejudice, and a can of generic tuna; muttering, "excuse me sir, have you seen my life?"

Ali would hate that. There must be a Bloomingdale's bag around here somewhere.

Lori, I know you will remember who I am, this is the first time I have replied to you. I have, for the last hour, been reading your writings. They are so inspirational. You are a very courageous and loving MOTHER. I have a cousin who lost her son about nine years ago and I remember her saying "I'm supposed to be laying there, not him." Life definitely hands us some hard knocks, but hopefully we can handle them. My heart goes out to you, but in the next breath, I know from your readings that you will handle what is handed to you. I wish, as many other friends and family do, that there was something I could do to help you thru this horrible time. Just know that you and Ali are on all of our minds and wish you the most heartfelt love and prayers. Love, Carolyn

Well, if I find you walking down a city street with all those things in your bag I'll offer to carry it for you.

Lori. If I saw you pushing your shopping cart I would give you a big mug of coffee, a bag of fresh made snickerdoodles and a huge hug. You are in my thoughts and prayers through this trying time. Much love,

I have. I have seen it. Your life. Or at least what you have painted of it here. And it's beautiful and terrifying all at once. Ali is right. Perhaps a boutique bag would be best. Love, Alt

I think that I also have seen it. In fact I know I have. Your life has been a journey that only a few are ever capable of taking and being able to continue. It is a journey that takes a special person, a person like you, because most don't have what it takes, you do! You have shown all that you are strong yet tender, courageous yet vulnerable, resilient yet fragile, brave yet frightened, generous yet exhausted and through it all, still FAITHFUL, faithful to the task and to the journey that has been set before you where ever it has lead. For that, you shall be rewarded beyond what this world has to offer! So, keep your head high and stay the course, for HE IS FAITHFUL & JUST! I lift my prayers up to God for you, Alison, Megan, Chuck and your family.

You know you're on my mind right now. If I could afford it, I'd give you the Bloomie's bag complete with a pair of Manolo's -- even with nothing on but those grannie panties and some designer stilettos, you could hold your head high :) I love you.
