Ali looked like someone who made the most out of life. They say the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, so I have no doubt she was special. *hug* posted by: Alli Hawkins (reply) post date: 02.28.07 (3:20 pm) her spirit will never be forgotten. neither will her stregnth or humor or beauty or her love. Remember that someone guided her between birth and heaven. Someone showed her that love and courage and hope. I know because I see a piece of her everytime I look at you. posted by: surrogate (reply) post date: 03.02.07 (5:33 pm) Hope your trip is peaceful- and provides some peace. posted by: apyjo (reply) post date: 03.04.07 (12:11 pm) ((There are simply no adequate words to my mind to describe how this makes me feel for you and your family.)) posted by: lostin2007 (reply) post date: 03.04.07 (5:12 pm) I've spent most of the afternoon reading your blog. I cried and hurt for what Ali and your family had to endure. *hugs to you* Thank you for giving the links. Ali was a very special person. Thank you for letting me read about the experiences. I hope you were able to enjoy your trip. You are right...she will never leave my heart. posted by: lorischuster (reply) post date: 03.13.07 (9:52 am) Reply to: doeeyed Thank you for your willingness to get to know her. It makes me feel in some respects that she is still alive. I know that doesn't make sense...but I rarely do! I had a lovely time thank you. posted by: lorischuster (reply) post date: 03.13.07 (9:54 am) Reply to: bawdy She really did enjoy life and it was contagious. I think that is a difficult void to fill--for everyone who knew her. Thank you for your comment...not sure how I was lucky enough to raise two wonderful daughters. posted by: lorischuster (reply) post date: 03.13.07 (9:55 am) Reply to: Alli Hawkins So often my mind goes to those times in our house when it was filled with screaming girls...eating, talking, causing flood and fire. I have great memories as well... and you are central to them. Nice to hear from you Alli. posted by: lorischuster (reply) post date: 03.13.07 (9:58 am) Reply to: FinalyFree Thank you for taking time to visit those links--to get to know about Ali and our life together. It means alot. So many times I think about how ironic it is that I feel such a sense of strength and support from a group of friends that I will probably never even meet. It is a blessing...and you are a blessing...so thank you. posted by: lorischuster (reply) post date: 03.13.07 (10:00 am) Reply to: Katie Carlson That is a wonderful thing to hear Katie and I will add that your family has had a tremendous impact on our family. Megan said that she saw Max yesterday and I felt like she was talking about my long lost son. :) It was so good to hear from you. posted by: lorischuster (reply) post date: 03.13.07 (10:03 am) Reply to: AHEP Every time I look at those words or hear that song I can't help but cry. It is hopeful and comforting. Thank you for your tender words because sometimes...often...I doubt that I did everything how I was supposed to and that is a frightening thought...to be inadequate in that situation. How do you prepare for such a thing? I'm sorry Ashli that you are facing your own battle with this horrendous disease. You are a warrior and I am honored to be your friend. posted by: lorischuster (reply) post date: 03.13.07 (10:04 am) Reply to: surrogate thank you for your good wishes...it was very peaceful and restorative. posted by: lorischuster (reply) post date: 03.13.07 (10:06 am) Reply to: apyjo Thank you April...sometimes I think that I am still just numb. scary thought... maybe you understand. posted by: lorischuster (reply) post date: 03.13.07 (10:10 am) Reply to: lostin2007 What a nice comment. Thank you...and thank you for taking time to read my blog and about Ali and our 'journey'. I guess what I want people to get from it all is about the preciousness of life... and the joy in the little things. Hope some of that came through. I had a great time away and I came back very refreshed. Thank you for the hugs and prayers. :) posted by: lorischuster (reply) post date: 03.13.07 (10:10 am) Reply to: kurtmaddox thank you. :) posted by: lorischuster (reply) post date: 03.13.07 (10:13 am) Reply to: goldie Time does seem to fly...I think that's why I felt so frustrated for a while...I felt like I should be farther along. That turned out to be wrong. My new motto: It is what it is. You are a sweetheart and I am always happy to see your name pop up. posted by: lostin2007 (reply) post date: 03.13.07 (10:18 pm) Reply to: lorischuster The preciousness of life and the joy of the little things did come through. It is so easy to get wrapped up in whatever is stressing us and not remembering to enjoy life. I used to be really bad about it but i've been making an effort to enjoy life now, some days are easier than others. I'm glad you came back all rested up. :) *hugs* posted by: FinalyFree (reply) post date: 03.14.07 (11:50 am) Reply to: lorischuster Thank you for giving all of us the opportunity to know you and your daughter. Both of you have blessed many lives. And never say never, there's no telling when our paths might cross :) posted by: Sandy (reply) post date: 03.26.07 (4:30 am) A very touching tribute to Ali. She was born in the same year as my grandson and I just can't imagine the hurt you must feel in her loss. The words in the song were very touching and I had never heard it before. I liked the line about I never believed I'd be watching an angel being born then flying home. posted by: sebastianjoshua (reply) post date: 09.04.07 (6:29 pm) May GOD bless her... amen |
