Sermon.
09.24.06 (9:24 am)   [edit]

I was sitting in bed this morning drinking coffee, listening to Bach’s Suite for Solo Cello No. 1 and watching a bank of dark billowing clouds float my way.

It was almost as if the notes of the cello were serenading the movement of the clouds.

Bach’s music does not float in the air and disappear. It haunts you, inhabits you—like a lost spirit. It settles into an empty place inside of you and fills it until you can only close your eyes and wait to see what part of you it has healed.

The billowing clouds, Bach—and coffee. That is all the evidence I need of God’s existence. It is a tangible reminder of the perfection that he desired for us and proof of that which is to come.

Further Proof:
Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 3
Vivaldi’s LaStravaganza, Op. 4 Concerto No. 1 in Bb
Mozart Requiem-Agnus Dei
Chorale #220 Turtle Island String Quartet
(Windham Hill Winter Solstice)
Sarabande by Bach
Cavalleria Rusticana - Intermezzo (Muscagni)

Lover-ly picture. There's something wonderful about relaxed Sunday mornings. Now about this Bach character? The name is familiar, but...

My musical tastes are all over the board...but, Sundays should be reserved for Bach I think. Thank you for your nice comment. :)

I never wonder if God's real...sometimes I just wonder where He is.

This was a rather flowery post for me. Even when I have money for nothing else (with the possible exception of tampons) I find the money to stock up on Starbucks house blend. We don't even say decaf outloud at our house. Glad you stopped by.

That is what I meant as well.He has pulled me out of some stuff and then He has left me in some stuff. He always knows better than me.

Reply to: goldie I never thought about it but, you're right...they definitely can have the same effect. rarely are my greatest revelations about God found in church. almost always in moments like these. it was a perfect Sunday. thank you for your very nice comment. :)
