What a beautiful daughter. You must be a tremendous mother to put all of this effort and creativity into making sure her birthday is so very special. You've given me some good ideas with which to recognize the birthday of my oldest, who will be 21 in about 6 months.

Thank you...on all counts. You know how it is when you are a parent... you just want them to be safe, happy, and know how much they are loved. She is a beautiful girl and she is her own person and I appreciate that about her...very much...although while she was a teenager--not so much. :) It happens very fast doesn't it?

She is a indeed a heartbreaker...thank you. I hope I'm a good mom-- or at the very least tolerable. She took me 'clubbing' with her in Chicago...I guess that's a good sign. Glad you stopped by Bawdy...and not to bug...but looking forward to a new post. Although it will be sad not to see Judith's face popping up.

She's a pretty girl...it was funny walking around with her in Chicago--she doesn't really look like me at all so I don't think people assumed I was her mother and I would catch men looking at her and was just waiting for someone to say something that might require my backhand. Although I'm sure that would have been the last time she asked me along. :) Nice to hear from you--as usual.

She had a very happy birthday and told everyone we ran into...cab drivers, the conductor on the train, the bellman, waiters, clerks, the check in counter at the hotel, assorted bartenders and basically anyone who would listen. It was a lot of fun to see someone enjoying a birthday so much. they certainly do grow up fast...Kurt's right...it gets harder and harder to explain how she is 21 and I am 29!
