You truly raised such a beautiful person. Her love for you is so obvious. And it is apparent that you had the kind of relationship where you shared everything. She was talking to you about cute surfer guys. haha. It's lovely, it really is. Her strength is shining through in this gem and it's easy to see where she got it. posted by: JAS (reply) post date: 06.17.05 (12:49 am) Your right Lori, I think the fact that you just found this email again, is a sign from Ali that she is alright. Just like the flower that popped up in my yard, the spring after grandma died. It was one she kept telling me to take home and i never did. It seems that small things happen to remind us of them. You did raise an amazing girl, thank you for sharing this with everyone....love you.......... posted by: JAS (reply) post date: 06.17.05 (1:25 am) Let me rephrase that, I said you raised an amazing girl, wrong, you raised TWO amazing girls. Megan you are amazing....and so is your mom........love u both posted by: newbie (reply) post date: 06.17.05 (6:12 am) I agree with you. I believe that you're unknowingly keeping and finding that e-mail is not a mere coincidence. And I love Judy's story about a flower popping up in the yard that her mom wanted her to have! These two stories are sooo cool! I was just thinking this morning about my late grandmother. I can't wait to see her again so I can tell her how much my daughter Ursula is just like her. I asked the Lord to tell her for me. Tell her I love and miss her too. AFter reading y'alls stories, I believe He will!! Jodi posted by: Laura S. (reply) post date: 06.17.05 (11:42 am) Hey Lori, That is such a beautiful email. She was such a dynamic person and it feels like shes right there when I read that email. Hopefully us girls can come visit you soon, Ok? I'm leaving next friday so hopefully i'll be able to see you before then. I miss you. You are a strong, amazing person and i think of you every day. posted by: altricial (reply) post date: 06.17.05 (5:40 pm) I read this yesterday. And then I read it again today. As soon as I opened it, the first thought that popped into my head was "I miss you." It was that first line. The one after "HI momma!" And then again, toward the end. It crept in to my head. So much that this quick note said. posted by: altricial (reply) post date: 06.17.05 (5:41 pm) I tagged you. Check out my 6/17 post. I hope you'll play. posted by: Alli (reply) post date: 06.18.05 (7:36 am) HAHA ali and her surfer boys. That was one thing me and her always shared in common. We wanted to surf sooo bad. We were even gonna end up surfing on lake michigan if we had to (we even researched into that)! :-) If her heaven is just like hawaii she is is loving every minute of it. Hawaii is wonderful and so was ali. I think about her and you and megan everyday. Love always. posted by: LoriSchuster (reply) post date: 06.18.05 (10:44 am) Reply to: billlyryan I know. :) posted by: LoriSchuster (reply) post date: 06.18.05 (10:46 am) Reply to: lindy thank you lindy... we really did have such a great relationship... Ursula is a beautiful name by the way. It's nice to see traits of the ones we loved in our little ones... sometimes! :) posted by: LoriSchuster (reply) post date: 06.18.05 (10:49 am) Reply to: Laura I would love for you all to come over when I'm home. OMG-- Palm trees...I knew it would be like this! this time she'll be able to take the surfing lessons without worrying about bloodcounts or anything else. that's my hope and i'm sticking to it. Nice to hear from you. posted by: LoriSchuster (reply) post date: 06.18.05 (11:14 am) Reply to: altricial I know exactly what you mean... it is so amazing that you noticed that... I thought the same thing! It was almost eerie... but in a good way. The fact that you saw that brought tears to my eyes... can't explain it... but you are right--so much said in a little note. It is like finding a treasure map in a bottle. posted by: LoriSchuster (reply) post date: 06.18.05 (11:15 am) Reply to: altricial I'm honored :) i'm going to go try it now. posted by: your sissy (reply) post date: 06.21.05 (2:01 pm) Death is the next great adventure, by the time we get there she will be surfing like a pro and bonus no sharks! posted by: FinalyFree (reply) post date: 06.21.05 (6:52 pm) How precious a find Lori. I sob everytime I read something like this on your blog, tears of pain and tears of joy. I honestly believe Ali lives on today through you and her family. Your memories are such treasures. I realize some things, like this e-mail is bittersweet, but I certainly believe it is a sign that she is alright and she wants you to know now as she did then that she loves you :) |
